Store the condom in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Use a new condom for each sexual encounter.
- Gently tear open the packaging. Do not use fingernails, teeth or anything that could damage the condom.
- Before any sexual contact, place the condom on the tip of the erect penis, the rolled edge facing out.
- Unroll the condom to the base of the erect penis. If the condom is difficult to unroll, it may be on backwards, damaged, or too old. Throw away the condom and start over with a new one.
- Immediately after ejaculation, withdraw the still erect penis from the vagina, holding the base of the condom firmly.
- Wrap the condom in tissue paper and throw it in the trash. Wash hands with soap and water.
