Unholy takes the idea of gay saints and turns it into a gloriously irreverent mix of homoerotic art, mock hagiography, and camp devotion. Drawing from the illustrated book Unholy, this calendar presents a different larger-than-life saint through bold imagery and fantastical text.
Presented with a tongue-in-cheek sense of scholarly seriousness, each month pairs large-format nude male imagery with fictional accounts of miraculous lives and virtues. The result is witty, provocative, and visually striking — a calendar that plays with religion, queer history, and erotic art without taking itself too seriously.
